New family face for the Dacia family

It is known from the so-called premium manufacturers: the family face. But the Dacia family is hardly likely to count among these. Nevertheless, the Romanians under French leadership have now shown a facelift for the Sandero, its off-road-looking brother Sandero Stepway, the Logan limousine and the associated Logan MCV estate car. With the new front design, which is based on the Dacia Duster, something like a common thread is to be found in the design. We look at what has happened.

New taillights are the most obvious update at the rear

The facelift models mainly differ from their predecessors on the front. This can be seen in the redesigned headlights, which are now divided into three segments. There are also honeycomb grilles in the grille, which are based on those of the Duster. In addition - as it should be if you want to be up to date - an LED daytime running light is added. Otherwise, classic facelift styling remains: the bumpers, front and rear, are now “more powerful” and “more characteristic”, darker taillights upgrade the rear and the newly polished aluminum wheels provide the finishing touch.

Of course, the Sandero Stepway will also be revised with the facelift

The bottom line is that the facelift is reserved

Is that it already? No. Little happened in the interior, but it made sense. So the horn has now moved to a useful place and - as you are used to - is operated with the impact pot of the steering wheel. In addition, you no longer have to operate the power windows via the center console: their switches have moved to the doors. In addition to a few chrome bezels for the climate control and around the instruments, the interiors mainly show new seat covers and patterns, with the Dacia Sandero Stepway then with quilted 3D fabric. New, optional extra: a reversing camera that makes parking easier. Otherwise it was almost as far as the interior is concerned. It's just a shame that Renault has not provided any modern assistance systems for Dacia, which could take revenge in the future.

As a special “Black Touch” model, the Duster can be identified by black details

But when it comes to engines, the French pass on their latest units directly to the Romanian subsidiary. A 1.0 liter three-cylinder with 75 hp marks the new entry. This means that a total of four petrol engines and three diesels are available for the model family. Another new feature is the EDC dual clutch transmission, which can be combined with the Dacia Duster dCi 110 4 × 2 for the first time. In addition to the other Romanian models, this was also shown as a special model at the Paris Motor Show. The compact SUV is called Dacia Duster Black Touch and comes with a leather steering wheel, the new rear view camera and the MediaNav navigation system. It can also be identified by a radiator and exterior mirrors in black, as well as by 16-inch alloy wheels in the same color.
