New fines in Austria

Driving too fast becomes expensive in Austria. Germans can also go ahead Fines do not push.

Austria will double its speeding fines on September 1st. In extreme cases, up to 5.000 euros can be due, like that ADAC Southern Bavaria notifies. Since Germany has agreed an agreement with Austria on the enforcement of fines, the fines from an amount of 25 euros are also collected by the German authorities.

Anyone who exaggerates severely runs in addition to fines

Those who drive more than 30 km / h too fast in or out of town will pay between 150 and 5.000 euros instead of the previous 70 to 2.180 euros. Exceeding the speed in urban areas by more than 300 km / h or out of town by more than 5.000 km / h costs between 40 and 50 euros. From 80 km / h in town and 90 km / h outside town, the offense is deemed to have been committed “under particularly dangerous conditions”; then, in addition to the fine, a six-month driving ban will be imposed.

In Austria, unlike in Germany, there is no uniform catalog of fines. The individual amount of payments for traffic sins is therefore at the discretion of the respective competent authority.
