New players: Elaris Finn and Leo

The number of electric cars from China continues to grow. The Palatinate company Elaris now offers two models from Dorcen.

Leo and Finn are the names of two new electric cars available in Germany that are sold by Elaris, a company founded in 2020. In the case of the Finn, which costs around 19.000 euros, it is a two-seater less than 2,90 meters long. The Leo, which costs around 37.800 euros, is a four and a half meter long, five-door SUV. Both models are built in China by the manufacturer Dorcen.

The Finn, which weighs 930 kilograms, is primarily intended for urban use and as an emission-free second car. A 35 kW / 48 PS electric motor in conjunction with a 31,5 kWh battery allows a top speed of 115 km / h, the WLTP range should be 265 kilometers. With fast charging technology of approx. 22 kW, it should be possible to charge the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 45 minutes. The equipment includes an infotainment system with a 12,3-inch touchscreen, navigation, reversing camera, Keyless Go, alloy wheels, CCS charging cable and LED headlights. The absence of ESP suggests the Finn's low-volume status.

With the Leo, the anti-skid protection is part of the equipment, which also includes electric leather seats, four-zone automatic air conditioning, induction charging cradle for smartphones, glass sliding / lifting roof, LED headlights, digital instrument cluster and a 15,4-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system . The 125 kW / 170 PS electric drive accelerates to a maximum of 160 km / h, the 80 kWh battery should allow a range of 450 kilometers according to the WLTP. The Leo’s fast charging technology, which is integrated as standard, can fill the batteries from 20 to 20 percent in 80 minutes.

Elaris offers a warranty of eight years or 120.000 kilometers on both vehicles. The importer wants to expand its range of vehicles by the middle of the year and build a dealer network with 75 partners. In addition, Elaris has 50 Euromaster branches as a service partner.
