With the luxury versions of Mercedes-Maybach Stuttgart have expanded their S-class family late last year. The upper class sedans represent, according to Mercedes, actually the forefront of automotive engineering. But here Brabus sees room for refinement - especially in terms of performance.
The strongest model is the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 with its twelve-cylinder twin-turbo engine on 390 kW / 530 PS. After an increase in displacement of standard 6,0 liters to 6,3 liters and further work on the heart of the vehicle reaches the Brabus Rocket 900 huge 662 kW / 900 horsepower. These accelerate the 2,8 heavy four-seater in just 3,7 seconds from zero to one hundred. Only at Tempo 350 the electronics intervene for safety's sake and prevent further acceleration.
The neighbors in particular should be pleased about a button in the Brabus Rocket 900. This controls the "sound management" and defines how many decibels come from the twelve-voice wind band of the exhaust. So the sedan can roar powerfully on the highway, but drive in front of the front door in the quiet coming home mode.
In addition to special aerodynamic components such as the front apron, which completely replaces the series bumpers, the large air intakes, the rear apron and the integrated diffuser, the sedan also receives tailor-made 21 inch wheels and a lowering of 2,5 centimeters. In the interior, the owner has no limits: every color request for the finest leather, Alcantara and every upholstery design is executed. Likewise, precious wood and carbon inlays can be ordered in any color and with different surface finishes.
This luxury has its price. Those who draw on the full, should count on around half a million. If only the performance increase is sufficient, about 300.000 Euro will be due. Incidentally, the Stuttgart-based Mercedes-Benz S 600 is in the price list with 188.000 Euro. If that's a bit too expensive, Brabus can also order the smaller 500 version for 250.000 Euro. Its 4,7 liter eight-cylinder with 335 kW / 455 PS gets after the performance increase 62 kW / 85 PS more.
