News: Nissan increases sales in Europe

Nissan has more than 5.200 new registrations in Germany in January. Point. But how does this number compare? Is that much? Little? So so? Well, in January Nissan is again the clear number one among the Japanese automobile brands in Germany. Nevertheless, sales figures fell by 8,1 percent compared to the same month in the previous year. But that's mainly because it was a very strong month. Which models form the foundation of the Japanese and what is the trend in them?

At the beginning of 2016, Nissan first allowed itself a little breather, if you want to see it that way. January 2015, which was used for comparison, was an unusually strong month, so that declining numbers could be expected in January this year. But a further increase in the market share is clearly to be expected in the further course of the year, after all the Japanese are just beginning to launch some new models, such as the Nissan Navara.

This can be seen from the average market share alone. Last year it was 2,1 percent and in January it managed to increase by 0,3 to a total of 2,4 percent. However, the expected upswing due to new models is not yet included here. But Nissan does not demand miracles, but wants to gradually expand its brand share in Germany. This can be shown with the share of light commercial vehicles: compared to January 2015, the market share was increased by 0,5 to 2,5 percent. A total of 431 Nissan commercial vehicles were sold. However, the crossover Nissan Qashqai accounts for a lion's share of almost a third. The Japanese sold 1.800 copies this year in January. Other pillars are the Nissan Micra with 950 new registrations, and the Nissan Juke with 850 new registrations.

The premium for electric vehicles can also be expected to see a small upswing. After all, Nissan is playing a pioneering role in zero-emission cars. The Nissan Leaf is one of the best-selling electric cars in the world. In addition, the fully electric transporter e-NV200 is in the portfolio and, together with the compact electric model, could post a small increase in sales due to the premium.
