The price of 34.950 Euro is now the Peugeot 308 GTi can be ordered. The top-of-the-range version of the compact five-door is powered by a 200 kW / 272 hp 1,6-liter turbo gasoline engine that is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The 330 Nm are directed to the front axle and kept in check by a mechanical Torsen differential. In addition, the Golf GTI competitor has a sports suspension, enlarged brakes and two chrome tailpipes. The driver and front passenger sit in bucket seats.
The Peugeot not only competes against the weaker Golf GTI Performance (169 kW / 230 PS, at 30.400 euros), but also against models such as Ford Focus ST (184 kW / 250 PS, from 28.850 euros), Seat Leon Cupra (195 kW / 265 hp, from 31.320 euros) and the discontinued model Renault Mégane RS (195 kW / 265 hp, from 27.950 euros).
