With up to nine seats, modern safety equipment and homely interior, the new Peugeot Traveler convince not only business people, but also families. The minibus model, the predecessor of which is the Expert Tepee, celebrates its premiere at the Geneva Salon (3. To 13. March). The market launch is in the first half of the year.
The Toyota and the French PSA group have been working together in the medium-sized van segment since 2013
The customer can choose between three lengths. In addition to the usual "normal" version with 4,95 meters and the long version measuring 5,30 meters, there is a compact 4,60 meter short for the first time. A maximum of nine passengers can be accommodated in the Traveler, alternatively up to around 4.600 liters of luggage can fit behind the tailgate when the seats are removed.
In terms of equipment, the traveler strives to minimize the comfort and technology distance from the classic passenger cars. If desired, the side sliding doors open after a hint of a step under the side skirts. Sliding seats, three-zone air conditioning and folding tables on the front seats are among the equipment options. If the Traveler functions as a VIP shuttle, there are single seats facing each other and a glass roof.
Various technology options are available, such as a head-up display, 180 degree rear-view camera and touchscreen with the smartphone connection. Among other things, lane departure warning and an attention assistant, which is based on camera surveillance of the interior, should ensure safety on board.
The engine range includes four diesels between 72 kW / 98 PS and 133 kW / 180 PS. It is shifted manually, the top diesel is a six-speed automatic series, the smallest engine an automated manual transmission option. The front wheels are driven. Prices are not known yet.
