Electric carmaker Tesla has announced the European prices for its new SUV: The Model X, which will be delivered from the summer, costs in the smallest version with 70-kWh battery and 400 kilometers range in Germany at least 93.000 Euro. A comprehensive equipment, all-wheel drive and the eye-catching wing doors are already included.
The performance of the system is indicated by Tesla for the performance version P90D: 391 kW / 532 PS and 967 Newtonmeter torque are shared by the two electric motors, which are located on the front axle (190 kW / 259 PS) and rear axle (370 kW / 503 PS). In 3,4 seconds accelerates the nearly 2,5 tons of heavy SUV from a standstill to 100 km / h, the maximum is 250 km / h fast. Here is the 90 kWh battery on board, which should allow a range of 450 kilometers in the top model. The price: 131.000 Euro. Without the performance upgrade, so as a regular 90D, comes the SUV with the 90-kWh battery in 5,0 seconds to 100 km / h and maximum 470 kilometer range. It costs then 109.000 Euro.
The basic version 70D has the 70 kWh battery and 400 mileage range. "D" stands for the "dual engine" concept, four-wheel drive by an electric motor on the front and one on the rear axle. Starting from the drive of the Model S, the performance here should be well above 300 PS. The standard sprint completed the SUV in 6,2 seconds, 225 km / h, it is maximum fast.
A special feature are the gullwing doors, so-called "Falcon Wings". Each door is equipped with sensors that detect the environment and thus avoid unwanted contact - for example, with other cars in a narrow parking space. The Model X is available in six or seven-seater version, the trunk volume is 2.180 liter. Inside almost the complete operation functions as before on the Model S via the large touch screen. Important functions are mirrored in the instrument panel. Camera, radar and sonar sensors are standard, as are assistance systems such as Lane Keeping or Emergency Brake Assist. The freeway pilot, which offers autonomous driving functions, costs 2.600 Euro extra. As with the Model S, Tesla provides an eight-year battery and drive unit warranty, regardless of mileage and inspections.
