Volvo buyers like the robust appearance: Almost half of all 2014 newly registered vehicles of the brand were XC models - i.e. SUVs - or higher cross-country versions with off-road insignia. It is only logical that the Swedes are now equipping two more vehicles in a robust crossover style.
Venture with the S60 Cross Country mid-size sedan Volvo into a new segment: For the first time, a sedan with an SUV look is available. Just like the combi-counterpart V60 Cross Country, the new model 6,5 is placed centimeters higher, with off-road insignia such as widened wheel arches and indicated underrun protection and optionally available with all-wheel drive. For the V60 Cross Country at least 36.350 Euro is due, the S60 Cross Country, which can only be ordered in the highest configuration with large diesel, costs at least 43.840 Euro.
The drive of the crossover sedan takes over the 140 kW / 190 PS strong diesel engine D4 from the new Volvo engine generation. The 2,0-liter four-cylinder with two-stage turbocharger transmits its power via a six-speed manual or optional eight-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is available in conjunction with the five-cylinder diesel with the same horsepower and six-speed automatic (48.440 Euro). Always on board are in the highest equipment including 18-Zoll-Leitmetallfelgen, leather sports seats with electric adjustment and seat heating and two-zone automatic climate control.
The entry marks the combi of the 110 kW / 150 PS strong diesel engine D3 (36.350 Euro), which, like the turbo petrol engine T5 (180 kW / 245 PS) and the D4 also available for the station wagon, comes from the new 2,0 liter four-cylinder engine family , The V60 Cross Country is also optionally available with four-wheel drive (43.650 Euro, 140 kW / 190 PS diesel). In the basic version, two-zone automatic climate control, an audio system and emergency braking assistant are included as standard.
With the V60 and S60 Cross Country and the already existing V40 Cross Country and XC70 (still in the old nomenclature), Volvo now offers all non-SUV series as higher crossover variants except for the large sedan S80.
