Nissan Micra - if less is more

Nissan recently introduced the new generation Micra. This now gets a new entry-level engine that rounds off the selection down. Is the 71PS aggregate sufficient to power the fifth and clearly grown generation?

The history of the Nissan Micra starts in Europe in the year 1983. The first two generations met with much popularity, while the third and fourth generation found fewer customers. The current fifth generation of the Nissan Micra wants to change that and not only shows a much more pleasing design, but has also grown noticeably.

For him, the Japanese now offer a 1.0 three-cylinder without supercharging - so a sucker - with 52 kW / 71 PS. This shows the engine range rounded down. But it is questionable whether the power is enough to drive the small car befitting. If you trust the words of the Japanese, the Nissan Micra should offer high efficiency, but still driving pleasure.

Much more important, however, is the role of entry-level engine: every fifth Nissan Micra, So 20%, should roll with the base unit of the tape, the Japanese want to know - a real volume model so. Less debauched, however, shows the standard consumption, which is to be realized with the five-speed manual transmission: On average, just 4,6 liters to flow through the three combustion chambers and vapors 103 g / km CO2 from the tailpipe.

In addition to the new 1.0 three-cylinder with 71 PS two more units are available. On the one hand, a three-cylinder with 0,9 liter displacement, which thanks to charging but 90 PS makes. On the other hand, a 1.5 liter four-cylinder diesel, which also developed 90 PS. The engine trio is thus complete and should cover the wishes of the customers.

The Japanese small car is less reserved in its customization options. There are hardly any limits to the wishes, both inside and on the five-door body. The interior appeals with high-quality materials and equipment that originate from the luxury class. Examples include the Lane Keeping Assist or the Bose Sound System with speakers in the headrests. It starts - in the basic version - from 12.990 euros.
