The finale of the UEFA Champions League Final in Cardiff was here: The facelift of the Nissan X-Trail was presented to the world public and will be available from September onwards. The SUV has an independent design and looks robust, but without being a tough, uncomfortable off-roader. Instead, Nissan relies on a high quality interior, new technologies and more security. There are also practical features, such as a sensor-controlled tailgate. Look at the details of the facelift.
Carefully refreshed face
The optics of Nissan X-Trail was only gently touched - so he remained true to himself. New features include the wider, V-shaped radiator grille and newly designed bumpers. Front they are larger and are painted in body color. The daytime running lights with their boomerang graphics are also overworked. Added to this are rectangular fog lights that replace the round pendants. In addition, one should now recognize a clear difference between halogen and the new full-LED headlamps.
The rear was also carefully optimized and now offers more chrome accents. It does not only look a bit more elegant, but also more robust at the same time - after all, we are talking about an SUV. In addition, matching the front, a new LED light motif was designed for the rear lights. Meanwhile, the new 18 inch wheels fall on the side. The new shades of exterior paint also attract attention: Orange, Tinted Red, Blue and Dark Brown are ready with the facelift of the Nissan X-Trail.
Interior - the Nissan X-Trail flattens off
The entry into the beautiful facelift world of the Nissan X-Trail should now be easier to accomplish. Reason for this is a new, bottom flattened steering wheel. It also offers easier operation thanks to four-way buttons and has recently been heated. You can also heat the chairs in both rows of seats, while the hot, two-tone leather upholstery is reserved for the top equipment "Tekna".
As standard, you get double radio reception, while the system you really want - a Bose Premium audio system - is again reserved for the top version. With the facelift, the Japanese also redesigned the NissanConnect Navi, which now offers a touchscreen layout with App Appearance, which should allow for easier operation. Otherwise, the interior remained faithful. Only the trunk volume increased from 550 to 565 liters. A maximum of 1.996 liters are available.
Well-known engines, new assistants
While the Nissan X-Trail with the assistants on a current level unlocks, is from the engines little news to report. This is the case with the 2,0 dCi Diesel with 177 PS introduced last winter. It is complemented by the 1,6 liter diesel with 130 PS as well as an 1,6 liter petrol engine with 163 PS. The latter is available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, while the diesel can be ordered either with the stepless "Xtronic" and with all-wheel drive.
The assistants are now joined by an intelligent emergency braking assistant with pedestrian detection in the equipment. There will also be the X-Trail with a cross traffic warner. Also new is the autonomous driving system "ProPILOT", which allows automatic control of the steering, of gas and brake on single-lane highways, in the convoy traffic as well as in traffic jams. This should have Nissan turned on the right screws to keep the SUV continue to be attractive.
