Only e-cars from Ford from 2030 onwards

Ford wants to convert its European range of cars to pure electric drives within ten years. At least one of the models should come from the Fiesta factory in Cologne.

Ford wants to become a purely electric car brand in Europe by 2030 in the passenger car sector. As early as 2026, at least one vehicle with a plug-in or electric drive should be available in all model series, as the company has now announced. It should be so far for commercial vehicles as early as 2024. However, they do not want to completely do without the combustion engine in the case of vans, and in 2030 there will still be plug-in hybrids in addition to pure e-mobiles.

With the crossover Mustang Mach-E, Ford has so far only had a purely electric car in its range in addition to various plug-in hybrids. The first model developed for Europe will be added to the range by 2023 at the latest; the small car built in Cologne should be based on VW's MEB architecture and replace the conventional Fiesta in the future. The construction of a second model with this technology in the same factory is still being examined.
