The offers plenty of space at an attractive price Ford Tourneo Courier. A family-friendly mini-van that offers plenty of storage space despite its moderate size. The family van developed by Ford is based on the Ford Fiesta and consequently uses the possibilities of constructing a family van that knows how to combine a passenger car with commercial vehicle genes. The Courier rounds off the range of practical vans at the bottom.
First and foremost, a family coach must of course be practical. Then there is freedom, robustness and flexibility. If you travel with a lot of luggage and a child, you do not need a luxury carriage, even if a bit of comfort is not wrong. Here, the purchase price and practicality are most important. If the new family member looks good, too? Jackpot!
But can you also speak of a direct hit with the Ford Tourneo Courier?
The size makes it
The bigger brother of Courier, the Focus-based Connect, measures a good 4,4 meters in the normal Tourneo Connect variant. In the “long” Grand version, it even comes to an impressive 4,8 meters and thus offers even more space in the interior than its little brother. The Courier, based on the Fiesta, comes to 4.15 meters and still wants to offer a similar amount of space.
Like its big brother, the Courier comes with sliding doors in the rear as standard, so loading and unloading children and cones is child's play, no matter how tight it is in some parking spaces. If five seats are enough - the Courier is a family van that can inspire. Only the significantly longer Grand Connect offers a third row of seats.
From 395 liters (measured standard volume) up to 1.656 liters (seats folded down to load under the roof) fit in the trunk. So there is a lot going in there and yet you don't have to do without the comfort of a car. It owes this mainly to the fact that it is based on the Ford Fiesta. Depending on the equipment variant, the height of the driver's seat can be adjusted manually and the second row of seats has the luxury of electric window regulators. Other technical "gadgets" want to make life as easy as possible for the owner. Four airbags, a steering column that can be adjusted in height and reach, and central locking with remote control are already included in the basic “Ambiente” equipment.
In addition to the Ford audio system "MyConnection", the "Trend" equipment line includes cruise control, a height-adjustable luggage rack, manual air conditioning and a leather steering wheel. The top model is the Titanium variant with rear park pilot system, headlights and wiper-wash assistants and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Three times Wroom!
In addition to all the models, you can choose between three different engines. The three-cylinder Ecoboost turbo gasoline engine with 1 liter displacement is Ford's favorite and, in the 100 PS version and with the optional start-stop system, has a third mix of consumption of 5.2 liters per 100 km. There are also two diesel engines. One with 1.5 liter displacement and 75 hp and the 1.6 liter version with 95 hp. Whereby the saver in the range is the larger diesel with a start-stop system. 3.8 liters in a third mix should be sufficient for 100 km.
Ford offers in the Courier, however, only manual five-speed gearbox. An automatic version is currently not in the program.
Good equipment at an affordable price
The Tourneo Courier starts at 15.150 € in the version with the EcoBoost petrol engine. The small diesel with 75 PS starts at 16.100 € and the 95 PS Diesel requires at least 16.900 €. The surcharge for the highest equipment Titanium is 2.800 €.
And finally ...
The Ford Tourneo Courier is a convincing newbie in the world of “small” to compact family vans. The at Ford for the Fiesta available xenon lights and the dual clutch transmission with Ford Powershift Personally, I miss it a bit, but the practical family carriage impresses with its attractive pricing and practical talent.
