Who the 911 when Carrera S is too weak and the GT3 is too strong, the GTS could find its special joy. And more of it than ever, because in spring 2017, Porsche will replace the traditional naturally aspirated engine with a new turbo engine. In return, despite the reduction in displacement from 3,8 to 3,0 liters, the output increases by 20 PS to 331 kW / 450 PS and the torque by 110 to 550 Newton meters.
Customers can order the GTS in the body versions Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa. You can also choose between a manual seven-speed or dual clutch transmission (PDK) as well as between rear and all-wheel drive. The most powerful GTS is the coupé variant with all-wheel drive and PDK, which ticks off the 100 km / h sprint in just 3,6 seconds. If you want maximum top speed, you should order the combination hand switch / rear-wheel drive that reaches up to 312 km / h. So far, the greatest feeling was with the GTS 306 km / h. Despite better performance, consumption is reduced: in the case of the 2WD hand switch, it drops from 8,7 to 8,3 liters.
The identifying features of the GTS include a wider turbo rear, a central double tailpipe, darkened rear lights and black 20 inch wheels with central locking. The equipment features include the adaptive chassis PASM and the sports chrono package. The interior was also upgraded with electrically adjustable Alcantara sports seats, Alcantara steering wheels or aluminum trim strips. With rear-wheel drive and manual gearbox, at least 124.500 euros have to be invested in the GTS that can already be ordered, and around 145.000 euros are called for the fresh-air variants Targa and Cabriolet with all-wheel drive.
