Porsche Panamera S Hybrid - most economical Porsche of all time

Porsche Panamera S Hybrid

With the new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, Porsche is continuing the success story of the four-door family Gran Turismo. Without sacrificing sportiness and elegance, the new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid combines a total output of 380 hp (279 kW) with a fuel consumption of just 6,8 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers at best. This corresponds to carbon dioxide emissions of just 159 g/km. This makes the Panamera S Hybrid not only the most economical Porsche of all time, it also beats all full hybrid production vehicles in its class. It achieves these values with the optional Michelin all-season tires specially developed for the Panamera with even lower rolling resistance.

The Panamera S Hybrid accelerates to 100 km/h in six seconds. The top speed of the hybrid sports car is 270 km/h. The purely electric range is around two kilometers, electric driving is possible at up to 85 km/h depending on the driving situation. In addition, the Porsche hybrid drive is the only system in the world that enables the development of additional fuel consumption potential in higher speed ranges through so-called "sailing" on country roads and motorways. At speeds of up to 165 km/h, the combustion engine is decoupled from the drive train and switched off in phases without drive power.

The main drive of the S-Hybrid is a three-liter V6 supercharged engine with 333 hp (245 kW), which is supported by a 47 hp (34 kW) electric motor. Both machines can drive the Panamera S Hybrid alone or together. The electric machine also serves as a generator and as a starter. Together with the separating clutch, it forms the compact hybrid module that sits between the combustion engine and the transmission. The e-machine is connected to a nickel-metal hydride battery (NiMh) in which the electrical energy generated during braking and driving is stored.

In terms of equipment, the Panamera S Hybrid is even better than the already very high standard of the Panamera S with an eight-cylinder engine. It is equipped as standard with the adaptive air suspension including the adaptive damper system PASM, with Servotronic and a rear window wiper. The new Gran Turismo also has the innovative display concept from the Cayenne S Hybrid, which informs the driver of all the relevant information about the hybrid-specific driving conditions.

The Panamera S Hybrid will be launched in June 106.185 at a price of 2011 euros. The Porsche Panamera S Hybrid will be presented for the first time on March 1, 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show.
