PS professional in Wolfsburg - Sidney Hoffmann drives VW Passat

It all started at DSF back then, when formats such as tuning TV and the like attracted viewers behind the stove. But these formats are history and changed to the PS professionals, a program in which two Ruhrpott tuners were looking for good used vehicles for the candidates. They were and are Sidney Hoffmann, moderator, auto screwdriver and tuning expert, as well as Jean-Pierre Kraemer, who is also considered an auto and tuning expert par excellence. The former was now on a visit to Wolfsburg and picked up his brand new Volkswagen Passat Variant.

The 36-year-old not only picked up some Passat, but a Passat Variant 2.0 TDI 4 Motion, so the flagship of the Lower Saxon middle class. Thanks to turbocharging, it offers 240 PS and therefore the thrust of a six-cylinder diesel. This is of course an optimal basis for the new tuning project of the Dortmunders. Space for attachments and internals is finally abundant. However, it will take some time before all of Hoffmann's ideas have been implemented. But the car connoisseur understands his trade, which not only his fans know. In addition, we can expect that it probably does not remain in the series performance, since the bits and bytes are handled a bit looser at the tuner, as in the global corporation.

He has been managing director of "Sidney Industries" for quite some time and refines numerous makes. His conversions are not only known in Germany, such as his getunter Beetle, an RSi, to which the native of Cape Town is quite proud. The passion for this model of the Wolfsburg is even so great that Sidney as moderator for the biggest Beetle meeting - the Beetle Sunshine Tour - from the 19. August is ready.

But back to picking up the Passat, which he personally celebrated in Wolfsburg. There, the tuner took a look at production, where up to 3.800 vehicles can be produced every day. During the tour from the press shop to the finish, the Dortmund man was amazed. Especially since he deals with individual conversions and is not familiar with assembly line production. Of course, these impressions had to be processed in a Wolfsburg classic: the original Volkswagen Currywurst.
