Während VW in Germany the change to E-mobility propagated, the US colleagues are making a strong old-school statement.
In the USA, VW has been offering a big one with the Atlas Cross Sport since 2020 SUV coupe that may also be available in a dynamic version in the future. With the GT Concept, the Americans are at least giving a concrete idea of what such a variant could look like.
The special features of the GT include an exterior paint finish in kingfisher blue, aero wheels from Abt in 22-inch format, a sports chassis with lowered body and a brake system from Tarox with eight-piston brake calipers. In addition, chrome inlays were exchanged for black accents on the outer skin.
In the interior, the sporty version offers four individual bucket seats from Recaro, the color of which corresponds to the outer skin. The gearshift lever of the double clutch transmission has been given a golf ball look knob. The two-liter turbo gasoline engine was taken over from the Golf R and, in the case of the Atlas Cross Sport, is said to produce over 300 hp.
