Volkswagen of America has partnered with the US racing specialist Andretti Autosport for this project and calls the team: Volkswagen Andretti RallyCross Team.
Two global rallycross vehicles will be used for racing drivers Tanner Foust and Scott Speed.
With this all-wheel drive RallyCross Beetle, Volkswagen is also presenting the most powerful model in the series in the USA: the TSI engine delivers more than 560 hp through supercharging and direct injection.
RallyCross is one of the motorsport disciplines in America whose fan base is growing the fastest - both in terms of visitor numbers and in relation to TV ratings. The demanding circuits consist partly of dust slopes, partly of asphalt and sometimes offer spectators spectacular jumps of over 20 meters in length due to level differences.
