Range Rover Velar - premiere for number four

Land Rover is expanding the range rover family. The new mid-range SUV Velar is to fill the gap between the compact Evoque and the half a meter longer Range Rover Sport. The Allrader celebrates its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show (9 until 19, March), the market launch will take place this year.

The exact dimensions of the Velar the British manufacturer does not yet. The length span that his two model siblings release is between 4,35 and 4,85 meters. In terms of price, he will find himself in the range between 35.000 and 62.000 Euro. For the drive, among others, from the Evoque known 2,0-liter diesel and gasoline engine in question, even the six-cylinder from the F-Pace sister brand Jaguar are conceivable.

Competitors of the fourth Range Rover model are likely to include models such as the Audi Q5, BMW X4 and Maserati Levante. In-house, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Jaguar F-Pace are aimed at a comparable clientele. (Holger Holzer / SP-X)
