The new Renault Mégane Grandtour is in the starting blocks, now in the showrooms of dealers and from September on German roads. It starts at a very compatible 17.790 Euro and is therefore family-friendly. But that has always been a domain of the French compact station wagon, which has sold more than 1999 millions since its market launch in 1,2. Almost 200.000 copies of the station wagon were sold in Germany alone, which accounts for 41 percent of total Mégane sales. But Germany is a combined country.
With the new model, the days of naturally aspirated engines in Renault's compact class are over. The entry-level engine is now also given a turbocharger, the ENERGY TCe 100. This means that the old 1.6 liter vacuum cleaner, which, like the new model, produced 100 hp, has had its day. In addition to new engines, the new Renault Mégane Grandtour wants to score with extensive standard equipment and a five-year guarantee.
There should be something for everyone in the equipment of the Mégane Grandtour. The compact station wagon offers six equipment lines, which are called Life, Experience, Intens, GT Line, Bose Edition and GT. The entry-level version already offers air conditioning, LED daytime running lights and hill start assist. Even a cruise control and a radio with 4,2 inch display, USB and Bluetooth interface are standard.
The Experience model offers roof rails, 16-inch aluminum rims and a few leather details in the interior. There are also electric windows all around and digital radio reception. With the Renault Mégane Grandtour in the Intens equipment, the main focus is on the Multisense system, which allows individual vehicle settings and offers the R-Link 2 multimedia system with a 7-inch screen. In addition, this variant offers numerous safety elements, such as a lane departure warning or traffic sign recognition.
While the GT is reserved for top motorization, the 205 PS strongest TCe 205, the GT Line can also be ordered for the weaker versions. The Mégane Bose Edition, however, offers real luxury: a nappa leather steering wheel, a navigation system, a massage function for the seats and of course the infamous sound system are standard for him.
A head-up display or the larger touchscreen (8,7 inch) for the R-Link 2 system are optionally available. Additional assistants can also be ordered. The French station wagon is the ideal companion for the family.
