Rimac C_Two crash test

Before a vehicle can be put on the road, it must be homologated. A time consuming and expensive process. The Croatian car manufacturer Rimac also has to submit to this process. In his video, he shows the crash test program for the 1.914 hp Rimac C_Two.

Electric hypercar with 1.914 hp

Like a Mercedes or Ferrari, the Rimac C_Two has to meet certain safety standards. This includes crash tests of prototypes and pre-series vehicles. These tests are therefore very expensive for niche and small series manufacturers like Rimac.

Since the Rimac C_Two is to be used in all markets worldwide, it must also comply with the relevant regulations. Since it is an electric vehicle, at least it does not have to comply with emission regulations.

Crash test as an important safety aspect

The Rimac C_Two crash test serves to better illustrate the behavior of the vehicle's frame structures and components. There are virtual tests that are calculated on supercomputers. But no computer can accurately predict the real environmental conditions. Crammed full of sensors and cameras, crash tests allow the vehicle to behave in an almost realistic manner in the event of an accident.

The Rimac C_Two is powered by four electric motors. One is installed on each wheel. The electric drives ensure an incredible acceleration of just 1,8 seconds to 100 km/h. The top speed of the electric hypercar is 415 km/h.

All 150 vehicles are already sold out

As a start date for production there Rimac the year 2020 on. The first 150 Rimac C_Two have been sold out for over a year. And that at a basic price of around 1,9 million euros.
