Skoda launched a performance-enhanced version of its compact sports car, the Octavia RS, in June. The new top version is called RS 230, with the numbers indicating the engine output of 169 kW / 230 PS. In the standard RS, the 2,0-liter four-cylinder turbo develops 162 kW / 220 hp. Thanks to the small power syringe, the top speed of the sedan increases by 2 km / h to 250 km / h - the highest value ever for a production Skoda. Acceleration from zero to 100 km / h takes 6,7 seconds. The manufacturer does not yet mention the consumption, nor the price, which should be just under 32.000 euros.
With the performance-enhanced RS, Skoda follows the model of the technical relative VW Golf GTI, which is available with 162 kW / 220 PS as well as in a "performance" version with ten more horses. The slightly smaller and less spacious Wolfsburg costs 29.225 euros or 30.400 euros.
