In the case of Audi, it was to be expected in principle. The premium label in the large premium group does not like to be said to have come up short in any comparison with Daimler.

The decision recently made to counter the hesitant AMG commitment with a clear deed was once again proof of the spirit of optimism that still exists in Ingolstadt.

Now, Škoda is neither positioned in the same way as Audi in terms of its products, nor is it intended for the same target group, and yet the German Škoda headquarters in Weiterstadt are involved in the area of ​​“social media” (I subsume everything on the Internet that does not just operate a website , but active, with content looking for dialogue ..) started with a clear bang.

The right product from the brand from the Czech Republic was quickly found. The Citigo. And if you take the trouble to search the Internet for the terms “Škoda Citigo driving report”, you will find an unusually high number of contributions from the keyboards of “amateur experts”. Amateurs, because none of the “publishers” from the blog world are on a publisher's payroll. Experts, because the new principles of the social web are perfectly met: networking, linking and always prompt in reporting.

In addition, the many driving reports from the “bloggers” (Internet publishers without a downstream publishing house ”) are simply more original and authentic than what the professional league delivers. And 2012 is likely to go down in the history of the Internet as the year in which the major automobile manufacturers take the important steps for new, authentic public relations. Some importers were already successful before! (Hello Honda!)
