Skoda Atero - a coupé that remains a dream

After the compact convertible Citijet and the pickup Funstar have Skoda Trainee at the main plant Mlada Boleslav now built a compact coupe. As with the two individual pieces before the project is intended as a motivational support for the prospective employees, but the two-door is based on the compact model Rapid Spaceback completely mobile. From the base, the sporty derivative differs, among other things by inclined C-pillars, a sloping roof and a consistently rising edge of the window. The drive is powered by an 1,4-liter turbo gasoline engine with 92 kW / 125 horsepower, brake discs perforated for show effects and a rear spoiler. The performance is underpinned by an 1.800 Watt strong audio system.

Last year, the trainees converted the Fabia small car into a lifestyle pick-up with the Funstar show car. A year earlier, the small car Citigo became an open-air runabout for the city center. None of the models has any prospects of series production. After all: Rumor has it that Skoda is actually planning two coupe-like cars - a particularly sleek four-door variant of the Octavia and a dynamically designed offshoot of the upcoming mid-size SUV Kodiaq. Models such as VW CC and Mercedes CLA or BMW X4 and Co. serve as models.
