Ssangyong LIV-2 - Almost the Rexton

The Korean automaker Ssangyong gives a more concrete view of his upcoming SUV model Rexton at the Paris Salon (October 1st to 16th). The LIV-2 study is the further development of a study already shown in 2013 and is also intended to introduce the brand's new design language. The finished Rexton is announced for 2017.

The brand's largest SUV is to grow to a good five meters and appear more elegant than last. In addition to a 2,2-liter diesel, a 2,0-liter turbo gasoline engine is also provided for the drive. Four-wheel drive is at least optional. If you want, you can also order the large SUV with a third row of seats.

Inside, Ssangyong wants to realize a premium claim that should make the difference to Korean models of the same size from Hyundai (Santa Fe) or Kia (Sorento). These include, for example, finer materials such as leather upholstery or wood applications on the dashboard and doors. There are also various assistance systems on board that Ssangyong had to catch up on, including emergency braking, lane keeping and blind spot warning systems and high beam assistants.
