Sangyong Tivoli Grand

After a good two years' absence, Ssangyong offers the XLV under a new model name. But not only the name has changed.

Ssangyong will be offering its XLV, which was discontinued in 2019, from August at prices starting at around 18.000 euros in a revised version under the new model name Tivoli Grand. Visually, only details have changed, but more has changed technically.

Externally, the Tivoli Grand has grown by 4 centimeters to 4,48 meters in length, and it has also received new front and rear aprons. The headlights now optionally shine with LED technology. There is a chrome clip between the lights that bears the logo. The Grand now also has roof rails at the top.

Clearer progress can be seen inside. What catches the eye is a new control backdrop for the air conditioning in the tidy dashboard. The higher-quality equipment features a touchscreen that has grown to 9,2 inches for the infotainment system with navigation and connectivity technology. There is a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. As before, the five-seater offers plenty of space with a 720 and 1.440 liter luggage compartment with the rear seat folded down. Even the basic version is equipped with the assistant package called Deep Control, which includes a collision avoidance, lane departure warning, and traffic sign and drowsiness detection.

Under the hood is a 1,5-liter petrol engine that, thanks to charging and injection, produces 120 kW / 163 hp and 280 Newton meters of torque. You can choose between a manual or an automatic transmission, each with 6 gear ratios. Ssangyong does not mention any mileage, consumption is given as 6,4 to 6,9 liters.
