SUVs have long since conquered the cities. The soft off-road vehicle offspring are particularly popular in the country. Especially in the south.
The SUV density is particularly high in rural Bavaria. Among the ten counties with the highest crossover share of the car population, five are from the Free State, as the comparison portal "Check24" determined when evaluating the car insurance contracts of its users. Germany's number one is the Miesbach district with an SUV rate of 14,3 percent, followed by Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (13,5 percent) and the Bavarian Starnberg (13,5 percent). In addition, the Bavarian counties Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bad Tölz and Lindau are in the top ten. Among the cities with the highest SUV quotas, Munich is in second place with 9,8 percent behind Düsseldorf (9,9 percent). In third place is Mühlheim an der Ruhr (9,6 percent). The Germany-wide average is 9 percent.
