Driving pleasure that has its price

Audi will launch the sport version of the A2016 Sportback, which was launched at the end of 5, in summer. The RS 5 offers sports car dynamics, but also costs more than twice the basic A5.

Audi is now accepting orders for the around 83.000 euro performance variant of the A5 Sportback called RS 5. The centerpiece of the sports version, which will be available from mid-2019, is a 2,9-liter V6 biturbo petrol engine with 331 kW / 450 hp and 600 Nm of torque. In combination with eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive (each standard), the bolide should reach 3,9 km / h in 100 seconds, the propulsion ends at 280 km / h.

Details such as the wide and flat radiator grille and additional air openings with a honeycomb structure emphasize the dynamic appeal. Diffuser insert, oval tailpipes and spoiler lip give the rear optically more power. In addition, the vehicle is on 19-inch forged wheels. Audi optionally offers various 20-inch models as well as the exclusive Sonoma green metallic paint finish.

To improve driving dynamics, the RS 5 has, as standard, a self-locking center differential, which ensures torque distribution between the axles as needed. Optionally, a sport differential is available, which additionally regulates the power distribution between the rear wheels. The standard sports suspension relies on a five-link construction on the front and rear axles. It can be upgraded with the Sport Suspension Plus with Dynamic Ride Control, ceramic brakes and dynamic steering. Who orders these and a few more extras, can easily drive the price of the RS 5 to six-figure level. For comparison: The basic version of the A5 Sportback costs around 38.000 Euro.
