The story behind the Lamborghini company logo

The wild fighting bull in the Automobili Lamborghini coat of arms is the company logo of Lamborghini, the sports car manufacturer from Sant'Agata Bolognese. The company name "LAMBORGHINI" is enthroned above the bull. In the 60s and 70s, the company name could also be found below the bull.

There are basically two versions of how Lamborghini came up with its company logo. The first is probably also the easiest to explain. Ferruccio Lamborghini was born on April 28, 1916 under the zodiac sign of Taurus in a small village near Bologna. His birthday falls exactly in the zodiac sign of Taurus (April 21 - May 21). So he chose his zodiac sign as the future company emblem.

The second variant says that in the early 60s, Ferruccio Lamborghini often visited Don Eduardo Miura on his ranch. Eduardo Miura was a passionate breeder of fighting bulls in Seville. One of his breeds on his Miura ranch were the “Miuras” fighting bulls. Their family tree goes back to 1842.

Ferruccio Lamborghini was so impressed by the bulls' passionate will to fight that he was inspired by it and chose the raging bull for his coat of arms. The Lamborghini company logo was born.

So he then chose the name Miura for one of his first sports cars. To date, most will Lamborghini models named after famous fighting bulls.
