Used electric cars: increasing demand

For used E-cars there are usually none bonus. Nevertheless, they are currently of interest to many buyers.

In addition to new e-cars, used models are also increasingly in demand. For the first half of the year, the market observer Dataforce registered 16.915 changes of ownership in Germany, which corresponds to an increase of 161 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. There were also 19.769 plug-in hybrids - tripling compared to the first quarter of 2020. One of the reasons is that leasing returns are increasingly coming onto the market or that the successor model is already just around the corner for private individuals.

Used e-cars to protect the environment?

Even the relatively high price level of used electric vehicles does not scare buyers, according to the experts. Second-hand e-cars do not generally qualify for the innovation bonus, but their value is relatively stable. The market observers therefore suspect that the idea of environmental protection is possibly even more firmly anchored in the used car customers than in the new car buyers supported by subsidies.
