After the Parisians VW ID study follows the concept of the next model of the future electric fleet at the Detroit Motor Show (08 to 22, January). While the first ID is the Golf of the Electric Future, the Detroit study commemorates the legendary Bulli and shows what a small electric van of the future might look like. Needless to say, the new ID can drive autonomously. After pressing the VW logo, the steering wheel disappears into the cockpit. Then the ID-Bulli orients itself by laser, ultrasound, radar and with cameras.
With the so-called Modular Electrification Modules MEB, VW can realize different concepts in terms of seat positions, drive type or wheelbases. First models are to come 2020 on the market.
