Winter tires on the car are mandatory for those who travel to snowy regions in their caravans. But on the caravan?
In Germany there is a “situational” winter tire requirement for cars; Appropriate tires must be on in winter road conditions. However, winter tires are not required for trailers, even in snow and slippery conditions. Nevertheless, it makes sense to equip the caravan with tires suitable for winter when you are out and about in the cold season. Because their importance for the safety of the trailer should not be underestimated: If the tires of the caravan do not have enough grip on a slippery road, the worst case scenario can lead to the entire trailer breaking away. When braking or cornering, the tire specialists stabilize the combination better than summer tires for the cold season.
