Car pick-up remains possible

The German car trade breathes a sigh of relief: the federal emergency brake does not prohibit the collection of ordered vehicles as originally intended.

The collection of ordered cars from the dealer is still possible under the changed Infection Protection Act. According to the Central Association of the Automotive Industry (ZDK), customers can still take their vehicles over to the dealership even if the incidence value is over 100. From an incidence of 150, shopping is possible with a fixed appointment booking. For this, however, a negative corona test that is no longer than 24 hours old is necessary. In addition, no more than one customer may be present per 40 square meters.

In the original government bill, the collection of goods was only intended for the catering industry. The ZDK had criticized this and warned against the death of the car dealerships. The association sees the now valid regulation as "weak consolation" because the all-important spring business is breaking away again.
