Detroit 2014 - HONDA FCEV

This time there was no other HONDA NSX to be seen at Honda and Acura. After a long time of tossing around with “concepts” about the trade fairs, developments now seem to have reached the point where they no longer want to reveal too much through further appearances. In the splendor of the Detroit NAIAS so two other Honda models. On the one hand, of course, the new “Honda FIT / Jazz” and on the other hand the fuel cell automobile from HONDA.

HONDA FCEV

In the land of “gas guzzlers” of all places, a particularly ecologically valuable automobile is once again right at the forefront of the Honda stand. You almost get the feeling that HONDA wants to use all its might to force US car buyers to be happy. Where others make big sales with even bigger pickups, where sports car happiness combines with super sports car happiness, HONDA is introducing a small car. And the third generation of the fuel cell automobile.

HONDA has already experimented successfully with electric vehicles that use their power through the fuel cell. Of the FCX Clarity would have a road trip with me two years ago through Europe - but in the end those responsible at HONDA Germany became unsure. This may change by 2015/2016. Toyota is also working hard on the fuel cell automobile and wants to have a “finished” vehicle on the market by 2015. Honda will have to hurry up with the FCEV - otherwise the self-imposed horsepower show castration won't be worth it.

However, the FCEV is not a novelty from NAIAS 2014 - it is already a trade fair. It celebrated its world premiere in Tokyo last autumn.
