Like traveling through the wild terrain in a sedan chair, that was probably the inspiration for Mercedes to bring the Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet to life. With its V12 engine and 630 hp, it offers luxurious off-road capability. Mercedes plans to launch a small series of 99 copies of this luxury SUV.
As a purchase price, Mercedes focuses on the 500.000 euros that you have to shell out for a Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet. For this you get electronic dampers, a widened track and an extended wheelbase. The ultimate, however, is the complete Maybach equipment, which lets the occupants float in the seventh luxury heaven.
Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet – luxury SUV for off-road use
The aim of Mercedes was to combine an off-roader with a G-Class and a landaulet, i.e. a partially closed body shape. On the safari, you float on leather-covered massage seats, air-conditioned through the rough terrain. The automatic fabric roof and air conditioning spoil the passengers and, in the future, the Arab sheikhs too.
Despite its lush motorization, Mercedes specifies the top speed as a limited 180 km/h. No wonder with the voluminous front surface that has to fight against the headwind. But the chauffeur will fix it, he gets help from the unbridled power of the V12 biturbo engine.
However, based on experience, anyone who is interested in a Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet should not hesitate for long. The luxury SUV will be available from autumn 2017. A website from Mercedes-Benz for the “Summit of exclusivity” already exists now.
