A dream story - out and about in the Alps with the Bentley classic car and Markus Zippert

A sound that makes men's hearts beat faster! The 6-cylinder engines of the Bentley built in 1936 accompany the skilful guidance of its driver Markus Zippert with a deep, pleasant hum. When Markus Zippert goes on a trip with his wife Barbara, classic car fans get weak. Zippert is a Bentley enthusiast and likes to step on the gas. Like here with his Bentley vintage Alps video.

He's a risk-loving man, although he knows the limits of his beloved pre-war Bentley. Even if he can now enjoy the drive through the Alps again, Zippert, as an experienced classic car driver, had to experience a serious accident with his car years ago. On a hill climb, he had such a bad accident that he became paralyzed from the waist down. His Bentley was almost completely destroyed.

The car was repaired despite the severe damage caused by the accident. Further conversion work made it possible to adapt the Bentley to the needs of its owner. Two systems are integrated in the converted Bentley. One is mechanical. Zippert accelerates by hand using a twist grip, similar to that on a motorcycle. If this twist grip is pressed down, this triggers the braking process.

With the electronic system, the vehicle is controlled entirely via the steering wheel, into which additional controls such as gas and brakes have been integrated. The clutch is triggered by an electric impulse, which the driver operates by hand. In this way, nothing is left to be desired by the driver.

But Zippert's vintage car has even more to offer! The inner workings: 4 ¼ liters, 6 cylinders and approx. 140 hp are the eye-catching vehicle data, which Zippert proudly presents. According to Zippert, the technology comes from a time when the brand Bentley was already united with Rolls Royce. Bentley had already made a name for itself in 1936 as a manufacturer of expensive sports cars.

Markus Zippert regularly takes part in classic car races with his Bentley. Luckily, his disability hasn't spoiled his passion for driving to this day.

In any case, we wish him all the best and lots of fun with his vintage Bentley in the Alps!
