This year the Essen Motor Show is celebrating its 50th anniversary. It began in 1968 as the "International Sports and Racing Car Exhibition in Essen". Today it is the horsepower Mecca for automobile fans, sports car enthusiasts and tuning enthusiasts.
More than 500 exhibitors from many areas are waiting for visitors this year. Especially fans of sporty vehicles will find their automotive lifestyle there. Sporty production vehicles, tuning, motor sports and classic cars are the main attractions in Essen's Grugahallen.
50 years of Mercedes AMG
But not only the Essen Motor Show is turning 50. Mercedes-AMG is also celebrating its milestone anniversary this year and is taking part in the PS- Festival.
Many members of the Association of Automobile Tuners show refined premium vehicles and high-quality accessories. From the daily driver to the high-end show car, owners present their automotive works of art in the tuningXperience. The EMS promises 10 days of fun, passion and extravagant vehicles.
Now that the roaring of the engines has died away on the racetrack and the trophies have been awarded, the motorsport scene is meeting in Essen for the end of the year. Motorsport is one of the main exhibition pillars of the EMS.
Essen Motor Show – 50 years of Super Sports Cars
The year is almost over. Automotive gems now spend the winter in well-heated garages. Many owners celebrate the finale of the season at the automotive event. In Hall 1, super sports cars from five decades will be presented in a special show. Next to the Bugatti Chiron, Ferrari F40, BMW M1, Ford GT40, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss and an Aston Martin Vulcano, many more spectacular super sports cars are represented in Essen.
Spectacular special shows guarantee an adrenaline rush for sports and racing car fans. More than 250 oldtimers, prestige vehicles, classics and youngtimers can be admired on more than 8.000 square meters of exhibition space.
