Haaatschiiiii… Haaatschiiii… The hay fever season starts and brings trouble for allergy sufferers.
The abrupt change in weather from frost to spring ensures pleasant temperatures, but already brings allergy sufferers first contact with pollen. The consequences can be heard and seen: loud sneezing and red eyes. No question about it, the hay fever season has started.
People suffering from hay fever who are traveling by car should now take some precautionary measures if they do not want to lose the steering wheel during a sneeze-runny-itch attack or drive blind for a while. Because even at 50 km / h you cover around 20 meters during a sneeze attack without being able to concentrate on what is happening on the road.
Modern vehicles have cabin filters. The seven include pollen, dust and dirt from the air before they get into the passenger compartment. The filter should ideally be changed annually, but at the latest every 15.000 to 30.000 kilometers. The start of the hay fever season is a good time to get this done. It is also best to keep the windows closed while driving to prevent pollen from entering. In addition, drivers should stow pollen-contaminated jackets, coats, bags and shopping baskets in the trunk if possible before driving.
