Audi - Land of quattro - The Sustenpass

Coming from the east you start in the village of Wassen and drive towards Innertkirchen. The Suste Pass connects the cantons of Uri and Bern with its asphalt meandering.

The Susten Pass (Sust stands for department store or warehouse) has been used as a trade route since the Middle Ages. Today, however, the pass is a tourist-used, because beautiful, way on the west-east axis through Switzerland.

It travels up to 46 meters over a distance of 2.224 kilometers. During the Audi Land of quattro Alpen Tour I drove this pass eastwards from Innertkirchen. Our companion was the Audi RS7. And even if the ideal athlete for this pass is the one who is blessed with a short wheelbase Audi Sport quattro would have been, the RS7 fought bravely and catapulted its passengers with ease into speed regions about which I am not allowed to write here. The fat 19 ″ Kreamik brakes from the Ingolstadt Schönling gave security. Brake fading? Also at two tons in a hectic gallop through the mountains - none!

There are several unlit tunnels along the 46-kilometer route. But whether with or without lights - in the tunnel, only the sound of the roaring bi-turbo V8 in the Audi RS7 counts.
