Black Hawks start at 24h at the Nürburgring in blue-yellow

BILSTEIN celebrates 10's Black Falcon partnership with AMG GT3 in legendary design

After 10-year-old partnership you can celebrate in the civil life rose wedding and treat yourself sometimes a nice new ring. However, BILSTEIN and BLACK FALCON are only too happy to be "married" to the good old Nürburgring and, instead of this, are getting a hot blue and yellow racer based on the brand new AMG GT3 for the anniversary. It is used by the 26. to 29. May come at the legendary 24h race - but also at the VLN.

Racing cars in the corporate colors of the suspension experts from Ennepetal have tradition, but so far they have never wore a star in the grill and the coat of arms of the "Black Hawk" on the hood. As a further special feature, 2016 adds that BLACK FALCON will become the official AMG Performance Team. The blue-yellow race car is just one of a total of three identical AMG GT3, which will be available for the successful racing team this year. Incidentally, the new BILSTEIN MDS (Modular Damper System) in the 4 variant will also premiere at BLACK FALCON. Just as top-class as the technology is also the planned cast of the blue-yellow AMG GT3 for the 24h race. The German riders are Dirk Müller, Nico Bastian and Hubert Haupt and the Dutchman Yelmer Buurman.

With the change from the SLS AMG GT3 to the AMG GT3, however, the suspension has also evolved in many details - and not just because of the additional adjustment options. Since the aerodynamically optimized in many ways bolide generates much more downforce than its predecessor, this had to be taken into account in the design of the spring-damper setup. In addition, it was necessary to minimize the outer diameter of the gas shock absorbers, since the larger tires and improved air flow needed more space. Nevertheless, the new 4-way system must be even more powerful than its 2-way predecessor. Due to larger spring rates and smaller spring travel in conjunction with the extremely effective aerodynamics impact up to 16.000 Newton on each damper in the compression stage. For comparison, this corresponds to a weight of more than 1,6 tons.

All in all, many small details make the AMG GT3 an all-round better car, which should be able to cope well with the manifold adversities of the "Green Hell". If there's a race track that has always pushed drivers, teams and vehicles to its limits, then it's certainly the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife - the place where BILSTEIN and BLACK FALCON have been at home for a long time.
