An oil change in the Bugatti Veyron costs as much as a small car
Anyone who has ever done an oil change in their VW Golf as a technically proficient student knows how easy and inexpensive it is. In comparison, the Bugatti Veyron oil change is far more complicated and certainly a bit more expensive.
Of course, as the owner of a Veyron, you drive to the relevant Bugatti workshop as part of your service interval. You hand in your vehicle there and experience every luxury until the Bugatti is ready in front of the door again. Cost point for the oil change, almost 16.000 euros.
Basically, changing the oil in an everyday car is not a big deal. Vehicle with a warm engine on the lift. Open the oil drain screw, drain the used oil into a suitable container and screw the screw back in. The oil filter is changed at the same time. And the Bugatti Veyron oil change doesn't seem like an easy process.
He and his mechanic grab their tools, disassemble the engine cover and first replace the air filter. Then they removed the total of 16 oil drain plugs, which are located on the underside of the engine block.
High viscosity Bugatti motor oil
Due to the use of special and viscous 10W-60 engine oil, the process took quite a long time. Then change the oil filter, tighten the screws and refill the engine with the right oil.
The second number after the W indicates the viscosity, i.e. the resistance of the oil at high temperatures. The higher the number, the more viscous the oil remains.
