Porsche presented the new 911 on snow and ice at unusual heights. The eighth generation of the sports car icon was recently shown at the Areit-Alm above Zell am See in Austria.
It was the first public appearance of the new Porsche 911. Unlike usual, the sports car did not climb the location in snow and ice on its own. A helicopter flew the new 1.408 up to the XNUMX meter high alpine pasture.
GP Ice Race – motor sport spectacle on snow and ice
The presentation took place in advance of the "GP Ice Race" in Zell am See last weekend. It was the new edition of the ice race held from 1937 to 1974. The spectacle at Zell's sports airport offered the spectators motorsport action with historic and current racing and rally vehicles - including the Porsche RS 911 GT2, Porsche RS 911 GT3 as well as a 356 Porsche coupe.
The around 130 participants who drifted over the 600-meter-long ice course also included Le Mans winner Hans-Joachim Stuck and Porsche brand ambassadors Mark Webber and Walter Röhrl.
