But the basic version is riddled with extras: so are electronic guards for impending front collisions, leaving the lane or for monitoring the dead angle as well as DAB radio, distance radar, LED headlights, rear view camera and much more. Even with the navigation package, which contains 890 Euro in addition to the electronic map traffic sign recognition and sound system, the 30.000 Euro mark is not reached.
The base model of the Proceed proves itself on the first exit around Barcelona in practice. The 1,4-liter four-cylinder does not have to hide with its 103 kW / 140 PS in front of the entry-level counterpart at Mercedes (90 kW / 122 PS). The little petrol engine has no trouble with the almost 1,4-ton Kia, brings its pulling power already at very low speed to advantage, but when accelerating requires quite early the next higher gear. Although steering, brakes and tuning of the suspension can not disappoint, but who keeps it with the fast-paced appearance with sportiness, should rather choose the stronger gasoline engine (150 kW / 204 PS); the GT is more expensive 3.500 Euro.
The base Proceed, which probably the most customers choose, floats uncomplainingly and calmly in traffic and cracks when desired on the highway the 210 km / h border.
