Travel and drive more comfortably - the armrest for the driver's door

Who doesn't know the problem with the armrest on the driver's door being too low and too hard. Long car journeys and the question of where can I comfortably rest my left elbow/forearm while holding the steering wheel with my left hand?

Everyone knows the situation. The correct seating position is set, but the armrest on the door is too low and the "window sill" for resting your arm is too high or just too angular.

Many automobile and sports car fans are confronted with it every day. But someone has thought about it here. A real frequent driver and he made an invention out of necessity.

His name is Michael Krueger. He is 50 years old and comes from the Bergisches Land. He is a freelancer by profession in the mobile phone construction sector. Its annual mileage is around 50.000 kilometers. He is also a big Tegernsee fan. Twice a year he enjoys the dream location, arriving and departing naturally in a relaxed sitting position, in his vehicle.

Incorrect seat height and poor driving comfort

With his new car, he again adjusted the seating position to enable comfortable travel from A to B. But here, too, the problem arose. He lacked the relaxed sitting posture. Again, he was unable to rest his left forearm on the door armrest to comfortably hold the steering wheel with his left hand.

The door armrest was too low for the seat adjustment. The seat height was again suitable for the steering wheel and the pedals.

Searching the web should give you the solution. Because he would certainly not be the first to be affected by the problem. But far from it, Michael Krüger found nothing. No practical solution, no spare part article, no useful assistance.

The idea was born out of necessity

After a short break of resignation, the inventor started to tinker. First, a piece of solid foam had to serve. This was glued to the door backrest with double-sided tape. It ended up looking terrible, but it worked perfectly

"Can the whole thing also be done in a beautiful way," thought Michael K.? He couldn't let go of the idea of developing a practical and elegant armrest. He continued to tinker for many years. After a few defeats and times when he would have liked to throw everything in the corner, the first successes came.

Armrest for the driver's door

After more than seven years she was finally finished, the "Krueger's armrest“. Dimensionally stable but soft enough and covered with the best Imola car leather. Incidentally, the armrest is now available in three different heights.

The production of the armrests is regularly optimized. The armrest is manufactured in a small factory, "Made in Germany", of course.
