From pensioner to speeder

In 2018, Land Rover launched a final small series of the old Defender with a V8 engine. Now the British are converting another 25 second-hand Defenders.

“Works V8 Trophy” is the name of a special edition of the old off-road icon Defender that has been reissued by Land Rover's Classic Department. For this small series, used Defender body variants 90 and 110 Station Wagon are extensively restored and equipped with new technology in many ways. The highlight is a 5,0-liter V8 petrol engine with 298 kW / 405 hp in combination with an eight-speed automatic.

Other special features of the Restomod small series include new LED headlights and a paint job on the body and the 16-inch heavy-duty steel rims in "Eastnor Yellow". In contrast, the outer skin is adorned with several accents in “Narvik Black”. Special features of the interior are Recaro sports seats, leather upholstery and an analog watch from the manufacturer Elliot Brown. In addition, the Trophy conversion is characterized by special terrain equipment such as underbody protection, front winch, roof rack, snorkel or additional headlights.

Land Rover also invites buyers of the Defender Works V8 Trophy to an exclusive adventure event around the test site of Eastnor Castle in the West Midlands. If the pandemic situation permits, the event is to be held this year.
