Full throttle party for the fans at the 24-hour race 2016

When the wheels on the Nordschleife turn for the first time on Thursday (May 26), then many fans have long since taken their positions: days before the event begins, the camping zones around the longest race track in the world fill up, and the Eifel forests become a paradise for motor sports holidays of a special kind.

Countless barbecues, tent cities and imaginatively designed claims of the fan groups ensure a unique festival atmosphere that is unique worldwide. There is a super program for these loyal fans.

Already on Wednesday afternoon, racing cars drive in vehicle parades to neighboring Adenau to be admired on the main street during the Adenauer Racing Day. Autograph sessions and discussion sessions at this prologue mark the start of the race weekend, which traditionally opens on Thursday morning with the performance test of the Nürburgring Circuit Challenge (RCN).

The sporting highlights are the night qualifying of the 24-hour race (Thursday evening), qualifying and team time trial in the World Touring Car Championship WTCC (Friday afternoon) and the top 30 qualifying session of the 24-hour race (Friday evening). Also on Friday evening, the Falken Drift Show attracts the crowds to the Müllenbach loop. Saturday offers a highlight with the two races of the WTCC (from 11:20 a.m.) before the 24h race starts at 15:30 p.m.
