The 29.000 cost around 2013 euros Golf VII as GTD. Today you have to leaf out a lot more for the successor. But the diesel athlete does a lot better than before.
At prices starting at around 38.100 euros, VW is now accepting orders for the new edition of the Golf GTD opposite. In return, the sporty diesel variant of the Golf 8 offers a 147 kW / 200 PS and 400 Newton-meter two-liter TDI in combination with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The sprint to 100 km / h takes 7,1 seconds, with a maximum of 245 km / h. VW specifies the fuel consumption as 4,4 liters. For comparison: the Golf VII GTD with 135 kW / 184 needed 7,5 seconds and reached 230 km / h with a similarly low consumption. On the other hand, nitrogen oxide emissions should be lower than before thanks to twin dosing technology with two catalysts and two-stage urea injection.
Visually, the GTD features side skirts, roof spoiler, diffuser with double tailpipe, 17-inch wheels, a body that has been lowered by 1,5 centimeters, and LED lights all around, including a light strip between the headlights. Inside there are sports seats with fabric covers in a checked design, a sports steering wheel, a digital 10-inch instrument cluster, carbon accents and a “pulsating” start / stop button. The standard equipment also includes an electronic differential lock, progressive steering, driving profile selection, voice control, inductive charging function for smartphones and assistance systems such as traffic sign recognition and lane keepers.
