Goodwood is a cult for motorsport fans, classic car enthusiasts and sports car lovers. This year the Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from June 29th to July 3rd 2011 at Goodwood House. The Earl of March and Kinra, Charles Gordon-Lennox invites you to his country estate Goodwood near Sussex under the motto "Racing Revolutions - Quantum leaps that shaped motor sport".

This year there are many automotive anniversaries in Goodwood. 75 years ago, Auto Union won the European Championship with the pioneering development of a rear-engine racing car. The Audi Quattro made its all-wheel drive debut 30 years ago and McLaren introduced the first carbon Formula 1 chassis. The 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type will also be duly celebrated in Goodwood.
Actually it all started in 1936 when the then Earl of March and 9th Duke of Richmond organized a private hill climb for the Lancia Car Club in Goodwood. Of course he won the race. In memory of his ancestors, the current Earl of March resurrected the event.
The motorsport event “Goodwood Festival of Speed” has been around since 1993. Every year, the Earl of March brings together a large crowd of motorsport fans in his magnificent park. The location and the English flair could not be better. The Goodwood venue is on the south coast of England near Chichester.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the world's largest dedicated event. The records for the number of Formula 1 drivers and teams, for classic vehicles, modern sports and super sports cars, motorcycles and airplanes are increasing from year to year. There is much to admire and discover in Goodwood. The smell of petrol is in the air everywhere, the variety of different vehicles, personalities and automobile fans arouses emotions and passions. Goodwood is worth a trip!
