Jaguar E-Type is more expensive to Eagle Spyder GT - radical

A pair of Jaguar E-Type is still a feast for the eyes today. From a driving perspective, however, the 60er icon offers a lot of optimization potential from today's perspective. This has also been discovered by the English restorer Eagle, who is restoring or radically rebuilding old E-types, bringing them up to date with modern technology. The latest modernization project from Eagle is called the Spyder GT.

Maybe a matter of taste, but the Eagle conversion makes the E-Type quite a bit more

The basis for the Spyder GT was a historic E-Type Cabriolet, which has definitely lost the predicate original condition by the conversion. Already visually, this is recognizable, because Eagle has significantly reworked the body. For example, eliminates the large chrome bumpers, which gives the vehicle together with a broadening the track crisp proportions. At the rear, two centrally mounted, cannon-tube-like exhaust pipes are striking.

Eagle has the Jaguar E-Type missed a modern sports suspension

In addition, the chassis has been extensively modernized. In addition to the all-new suspension with wishbones and Öhlins shock absorbers, there is a new brake system from AP Racing. The spoked wheels with 16 inch diameter were equipped with modern sports tires; there's 225er tires at the front, 235er at the back.

Attention to detail: Alongside the Jaguar E-Type, the spoked wheel's central lock also features the new Spyder GT name

Eagle has also put his hand to the engine. Among other things, an increase in capacity of the inline-six 4,7 liter and new carburetor for a performance increase of 198 kW / 269 PS 246 kW / 335 PS and 460 Newton meter. A new gearbox with five instead of the former four stages directs the power to the rear differential armed with limited slip differential. The just over a ton of light two-seater should bring the standard sprint to 100 km / h in just over 5 seconds behind and even allow 275 km / h top speed. The original takes seven seconds and can reach a maximum of 241 km / h.

If you're interested in a Spyder GT, Eagle will have to pay at least 695.000 pounds net, which is equivalent to 800.000 Euro. With value added tax calculated for German customers around 950.000 Euro. And if you have a few special requests, you can easily push up the costs even further. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
