Koenigsegg Automotive presents the world's first super sports car made of naked carbon. No protective varnish or coating is applied to the carbon surface of the Koenigsegg Regera KNC (Koenigsegg Naked Carbon). The thin layer of epoxy that usually covers a high-end autoclave-cured piece of carbon is carefully removed by hand polishing.
20 kilograms lighter than with paint
The result is a striking new carbon fiber look. The gloss of the body is given a metallic, graphite-like appearance. Each individual carbon fiber strand can be seen in detail. With no paint or clear coat applied to the vehicle and the thin layer of epoxy sanded away, the KNC Regera is 20kg lighter than a painted Koenigsegg Regera.
The KNC Regera was specially produced for a Swiss dealer. The vehicle has already been delivered and will be presented to the public at the opening of the “Carage” at the end of March 2019.

Compared to conventional surface treatments, KNC surfaces are far less sensitive to stone chips and the impact of sharp objects than one might think.
Christian von Koenigsegg on the KNC Regera: “It is not uncommon for a customer to order their vehicle with visible carbon parts. KNC takes the idea of visible carbon fiber to a whole new level. It reveals a gorgeous shine and a very silky finish.”
We think so too. The pure, bare carbon look makes the vehicle unique, subtle and unmistakable. The result was worth it, even if the way there has to be a very abrasive and delicate process...
